Lake Side Fun Shoot

The Brazos 4-H Archery Club would like to invite archers to a one day fun shoot on June 21 at the Nails Creek State Park on Lake Somerville, A.  This shoot is basically a warm up for State JOAD the following week. We will shoot 18 arrows at all JOAD FITA distances. Adults are encourages to knock the dust off their bows and play with us. 

Location: The Shoot will be at Nails Creek State Park on Lake Somerville. Hotels: There is camping available at the park.  Please go to the website listed above to make those arrangements.  Towns close by include Giddings (http://www.giddings.net/), Brenham (http://www.ci.brenham.tx.us/) , and Caldwell (http://www.texasescapes.com/CentralTexasTownsSouth/Caldwell-A.htm) . 

Entry Fee: The entry fee is $5 per archer registered before June 16th, $10 after that.  Checks are payable to Brazos 4-H Archery Club.  Please register online by June 16.  Link here to register:???????????????????????????????????????  .  You will also need to fill out a waiver on site before an archer can participate. Awards: Tournament awards to each division: compound, recurve and barebow, male, female and all division. Awards will be presented immediately after the competition. 

Round: ½ FITA (18 arrows at each distance)  122cm two longest distances, 80cm two shortest distances.

Male Juniors -   90,70,50,30 meters   
Female Juniors&Male Cadets-70,60,50,30 meters 
Female Cadets -   60,50,40,30 meters 
Cubs (male and female) -  50,40,30,20 meters 
Bowman (male and female) - 30,25,25,20 meters 
Yeoman (male and female) -  20,15 meters

Schedule:

Saturday, June 21:

7:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.  Check In

8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Practice

9:00 a.m. score first long  distance

Concessions: there will be snack concessions – fruit, water, soda’s, sports drinks, snacks.  Lunch – yet to be determined.  We will have coolers of water available for the archers.  Watch this site for further information regarding lunch concessions.

What to Bring:  this tournament is at a lake side so bring sunscreen, bug spray, pop up covers, lawn chairs, hats, sun glasses, and anything else that you would take to a day at the lake.  We want everyone hydrated at all times!

FYI: This is a deaf friendly tournament.  We will have coaches and staff to accommodate.  We will have equipment and targets for anyone to try out the sport if they want to.
