There is a military reservation near the airport, called Papago Park. Geronimo was held there, as were WWII German POWs.
A permanent archery park has been built there, and the Arizona Association has been putting in a lot of effort to make it first-class.
Not wide enough to accommodate the huge crowds of the AZ Cup, it nonetheless is a great place with easy access, lots of nearby restaurants and hotels, and typical desert terrain.
