Dear Friends,
My friend John Bellora asked that I forward this letter on in hopes that you will take a moment to help support the potential Morley Field Archery Range improvements in San Diego. If the Panama Project is passed successfully, the contractors involved with the project will contribute a significant amount of work to the current archery field, providing free of charge, over one hundred thousand worth of improvements. Our Easton Foundations will also contribute future funds toward additional improvements to the range. Additionally, this group already has the permits and access that our Foundation would not be able to obtain, especially in the way of environmental approvals to conduct gas well extensions. The EIR (Environmental Impact Report) that they have already concluded would cost any outsider well over $100,000 alone and take over a year to obtain, if at all.
Therefore, if you could take a moment to send a short email or letter in support of the project, that would be a great help toward getting this project realized. Besides, they don’t really need to know where you live, you are simply supporting another archery range to help in the continued growth of our great sport.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
Best wishes,
Don

NEED HELP WITH MORLEY ARCHERY RANGE SUPPORT LETTERS
Hello All,
The Panama project is upgrading Balboa park by renovating traffic areas and making them pedestrian only. The Panama project also has agreed to work with Easton Sports Development and Don Rabska to upgrade Morley field archery range to a real Premier ADA accessible FITA range where we can hold legal FITA tournaments. All they ask is some help from the archery community in writing support letters. There are many enviromentalist opposing the project.
Below is a list of contacts we would like you to send support letters to for the Panama Project in Balboa park, San Diego, CA. You don't need to live in San Diego to write If you feel you will benefit from the whole project. The Panama Project will restore and modify Balboa park similar to its 1910 configuration. The project will upgrade Morley field archery range to a FITA legal ADA accessible range as a bonus for our cooperation and support. Please send this mail to ALL of your archery friends.
Best regards
John Bellora

"I hope some day to compete in a park I have visited and loved in the past, Balboa Park. Since target archery is reliably shown by the insurance industry actuarial tables to be literally one of the safest sports enjoyed by other Americans of all ages, from 6 to 90, I am glad you are considering public support, joining many other cities across the United States. Archery is gaining poplarity rapidly, as many of our youth (and their parents) discover the benefits of sportsmanship, competition, and mental training that our sport enables."
and another archer sends her endorsement:
Hey there folks,
Maybe you've already heard of this, but Don Rabska from Easton is putting the call out to archers across the US to help them with massive improvements to a local archery range. I've looked into the issue and decided that the complaints against the issue do not seem to be very big. And in comparison, the good it would do for San Diego--not to mention the larger archery community in being able to host tournaments in such a well-designed (and handicap accessible!) venue would be profound. I've already written my letter and I urge you to send one, too. Plus, if you can pass this along to your own archery groups, that would be great.
I've always been so impressed with the archery community's ability to come together. Here's a chance to put that in action! :)
