Arizona Cup 2004
Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah are immersed in what is called a "mega-drought" - rain has NOT been a factor for more than 20 years of AZ Cups. The first day was actually very temperate, as the format adhered to the Olympic format of shooting 72 arrows (36 per round) for a ranking round. The original design was to have two separate ranking rounds, one each day. But the fates intervened on the second day, as driving rains, gusty winds, temperatures in the 50's and threatened lightning bolts caused Nancy Myrck to call the shooting after the first end of 6 arrows. Weather for the OR rounds was just wonderful. Next year will revert to the traditional FITA style.
