NArchival Archery Indoor National Results
The results for the NArchival Archery Indoor National Results (held regionally) have been correlated and certified and posted.   The NArchival Archery webmaster, Lyle McElhaney, received the numbers late yesterday and immediately went to work converting them into presentable webpages, and has posted everything but the JOAD portion (which will be posted this morning as soon as possible.  Thank you for your hard work, Lyle! (and congrats on your kid's performances in the JOAD as well!)

4H Tourney
This was the largest 4H archery tournament in the U.S.  !!!!
There were 145 kids and about 170 entries.  Some took their sights off to shoot barebow, some shot compound and recurve, some shot 9 meters then tried 18 meters.  A couple who did all of the above.  We had one archer who shoot a 286 and then a 292 with his compound.  Since this was the end of the indoor season many are ready to come play outdoors.  Reaching the longer distances will be a challenge for many of the first  year shooters.

Lone Star FITA
The Archival Archery Lone Star FITA is being held this year in Austin on two parts of the UT Intramural Fields.  The information page is
Lone Star FITA Information

You should be proud to be a part of an ever-increasing number of archers that enjoy the good sport.  Due to expected high numbers, the first day of shooting for the LSF will be held in a larger area of the fields, near to the corner of 51st street and Guadalupe.  For the second day of competition with the FOR event, the Practice Field will be the location for shooting. The Practice Field can be found at the very north end of the North-South street called Speedway.  There are maps to help find your way: Intramural Locations

Please remember the deadline for getting your check POSTMARKED is March 25th to avoid a late fee.

Entries postmarked after March 25th deadline are an extra $15. (and more importantly being late it makes it harder for the tournament organizer to plan the event well).

Remember that the adult fee is very reasonable at only $20 and all Junior/Cadet/Cub/Bowman are even less, just $15.

Please make checks payable to the Archival Archery and send with your printed information form as soon as possible to

LSFITA

Remember that this is a Star FITA Event! This means that it's reallll official, with the results reported to the NArchival Archery and it will be conducted in adherence with the FITA rules and NArchival Archery dress code.

StateField
The Archival Archery State Field Championship is being held this year near Columbus, west of Houston, between Altair and Eagle Lake.
Information and registration

Please remember the deadline for getting your entry check POSTMARKED is May 6 to avoid a late fee. Entries postmarked after May the 6th deadline are an extra $10. (and more importantly it makes it harder for the tournament organizer to plan the event well).

Remember that the adult fee is $25 and all Junior/Cadet/Cub/Bowman are $15. If you are shooting the optional unmarked round or in need of a box lunch for Saturday, add $5 for each of those two options.

Please make checks payable to the Archival Archery and send with your printed information form as soon as possible to

State Field
2703 Cornell Cove
Lago Vista, TX
78645-7238.

(Some people have sent ONLY a check in the mail and this makes things difficult- please include the entry form per the website)

Since many archers have never shot this kind of unmarked archery round, a comment from the Archival Archery president may help you decide to participate:
"For those shooting the unmarked round, this is a round for experienced people who want to test their skills on unmarked distances so a word of caution to people not familiar with this round; it could be aggravating and you could lose some arrows. Use your discretion or ask me for details first and I would be glad to assist you. This round is fun if you know what to look for.

Volunteers are welcome and can also shoot the unmarked course if they choose.  It will be fun! John Blaschke has agreed to host the event on his outstanding facility. This promises to be the best state field ever.

Minimal mosquitoes but plenty of wild game, bring your cameras, leave the broadheads and guns at home."

TopGun
The A Youth Open, June 22 to 23rd, will be held in Victoria. There are three goals for this tournament: 1) kids only have fun event, 2) introduce new JOAD kids to the world of outdoor FITA archery, 3) give youth archers much needed experience in the  FITA Olympic Round.
As everyone who attended last year's events in Victoria will confirm, the folks down there know how to put on both a smooth tournament AND insure that the kids DO have fun.  Check this LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION
