Note that the deadline for both applications is 15 December. We have no idea
what the venues are going to
look like in New Mexico at this time, but will know by early December.
Unfortunately we will have to make our decisions in early January and there will
not be adequate time to pick a team if we wait until then to get the
applications out to kids.
This event requires that the applicant be 14 by January 1, 2002 and not over 19
on August 31, 2001.
CODE OF CONDUCT (read this before proceeding, a signed copy must be included with any application)
ARCHER TEAM APPLICATION
The review process looks like this:
1. Number coded applications are reviewed by discipline specific teams from the
A 4-H Shooting Sports Advisory Committee. They are rated on:
* responses to the nasty questions at the end
* statement of purpose and 4-H activity
* letters of recommendation
* shooting ability and age (figuring that once someone represents us they will
not be able to return in that discipline)
2. Once ranked by the discipline committee, we will add in the names to allow us
to identify any past evidence of problems - language, behavior, etc.
3. Contacts will be made from the top down until each team is filled
We need somewhere between 28 and 116 people (I am hoping for the former) to put
four members in each team. We expect them to act as one team with differing
specialities and to be mutually supportive.
If there are any questions, please get in touch with me directly (see email link
below). Please note that those with hotmail.com or some other servers may not
receive this because of overall size of the document. Please share these with
your county Shooting Sports folks.
