  OPPORTUNITIES FOR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION

The Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Course moves away from a group instruction and focuses on individual athlete development.  Students in the Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Course will be introduced to coaching philosophy, event preparation, mental skills, training cycles and plans, equipment tuning and receive advanced instruction on the National Training System (NTS) for Recurve and Compound.  Coach Avendano adds special emphasis on Biomechanics, Nutrition, and Exercise Physiology.

USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification

USA Archery Level 4 NTS Coach

The Level 2 Archery Instructor Certification Course includes the Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Course and provides students with an introduction to the National Training System (NTS) Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound, equipment and accessory setup, athlete development and events as well as qualifies students to teach the Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Course.  Graduates of the Level 2 Archery Instructor Certification Course are well prepared to serve as the lead instructor for long-term archery programs such as Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD), Adult Archery Program and Collegiate Archery Program clubs, as well as the Explore Archery program.  Coach Avendano adds special emphasis on Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology.

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification

ADDENDUM:

Due to low registration, the August 13-14th Level 2 Certification course, hosted at the A Archery Academy, is cancelled.

There is a course tentatively planned for December 17-18th that is currently open for registration.  There is also a reschedule for the tentative Level 3 NTS course to January 6-8, 2017.  (A new tournament schedule has been released showing conflicts with the previously chosen date.)
  

The Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification Course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range and ensures that minimum standards for archery instruction are consistently taught to provide for the safety and enjoyment of the participants, instructors and spectators.  Level 1 Instructors are well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings in the disciplines of target, field or 3-D archery.  The Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans.

Coach Avendano adds special emphasis on Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology.

USA Archery is excited to announce the 2016 Coach Symposium on January 21-23, 2016 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. This is a great opportunity to elevate your coaching knowledge and learn how to implement the best coaching practices. Space is limited and you will not want to miss out on this chance to invest in yourself.

The event is open to all current USA Archery Instructors and Coaches with a Level 2 certification or higher, who are members in good standing with USA Archery.

There are 3 registration options:

·                     Option 1 – Registration with Lodging at the Olympic Training Center - $400 (Space is Limited)

·                     Option 2 – Registration - $300 (includes meals and transportation to and from Colorado Springs Marriott.)

·                     Option 3 – International Registration (includes meals and transportation to and from Colorado Springs Marriott.) - $1,000

*A cancellation fee of 15% will be charged for any cancelled registrations

The Symposium offers access to hands-on experience with the USA Archery National Coaches, KiSik Lee and Guy Krueger as well as seminars with key speakers, including: Dr. Wade Gilbert (California State University, Fresno), Matt Sicchio (ESIX), Lanny and Troy Bassham (Mental Management), Chris Clements (USA Field Hockey, National Men’s Team Coach) and John Crawley (U.S. Olympic Committee, High Performance Director)
