A cold front made the official practice day into an ordeal of 20 to 35 mph winds.  One joke heard was that if the archer wasn't pulling at least 30 pounds, the arrows would actually blow downwind of the archer upon release.   (ta-dump-dump)

After such a blustery and difficult practice day, the first day of competition started at 7am with a chill in the air and nearly dead calm.   Once the sun was in the sky the field's dew quickly dried and the temperatures rose, to an eventual high of around 80 degrees. The winds remained kind, consistently low and never posed a problem.  There were almost no clouds to be seen the entire weekend, and the second day of competition was nearly identical, though at midmorning the winds rose to between 5 and 10 mph as a direct crosswind, spicing up the final matches of the event.

The Aggies once again pulled off a smoothly run, well organized archery competition, but unfortunately I could not persuade Frank Thomas to guarantee next year would be the same fine weather.
