This page includes information provided by the JOADs.  JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) clubs exist to teach youth archery to all interested individuals.  Most provide equipment for beginners to use, and follow the USA Archery guidelines to insure safety and fun.

 

North Austin - Archery Country has a range, sells gear, and has in May of 2012, started conducting weekly lessons for youths on Saturday mornings.

Students have achieved:  1 Olympic team, 2 U.S. archery teams, 6 national championships, 8 U.S. records, and numerous state championships and state records.
 
Along with a capable group of volunteer parents, I manage T.H.E. JOAD club in Columbus, A (meet every Monday evening Jan. - July) and work with several top-10 U.S. ranked archers from the Houston and San Antonio areas, as available (usually on Saturdays).
 
His fees for coaching juniors (under 18) are only accepted as a donation to T.H.E. JOAD club.  Fees for adult archers are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Archery Training Center / Austin JOAD Archers

Austin has an archery training center for coaching the National Training System (NTS), and has been responsible for hundreds of excellent archers over the last 19 years.

Our goal is to provide
a safe, inspiring, and professional training and practicing environment
for JOAD and FITA target archers.

Archery Training Center coaches and trains 100-150 kids, parents, and adults each week throughout the year at their facility in South Austin in their Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Recreational, Competitive, and Adult Programs.

Archers come to us from all over Central A!
2014 : Our 19th year of coaching!
We have coached over 2600 kids since 1995!

2014 Archery Programs:
Recreational Programs: 1.5-hr regular classes, 1-hr drop-in classes, weekend 2-hr Summer Games (Castle Conquerors, Defenders of Middle Earth), and Mon-Fri Beginner and Intermediate Summer Camps.
Competitive Programs: Olympic Path Training (OPT) and OPT Trainee: Training for USAT and JDT under the direction of JDT and Level 4 NTS Coach Alex Meyer.
Adult Training Program: Open to adults at all levels of experience.

Cameron County JOAD Club

Cameron County, South A, 8/14/2000

CC-JOAD has been in existence since 1995. It boasts over forty members, at present. 

We have also received two NArchival Archery grant awards and various local and regional grants to promote archery in South A.
